All your transport options for the 17 km journey from Ringas Junction to the temple — fares, timings and tips.
Ringas Junction (station code: RING) is the nearest railway station to Khatu Shyam Ji temple, located approximately 17 km away. It sits on the Jaipur–Sikar–Churu rail line and has good connectivity from Jaipur, Delhi and several other major cities. Once you arrive at Ringas, reaching the temple is straightforward — multiple transport options are available outside the station at all hours.
The shared jeep (or Bolero tempo) is the most popular and economical option. Jeeps depart from the area just outside the Ringas station exit and run a fixed route directly to the Khatu Shyam temple gate. They fill up quickly — usually within 10–15 minutes at busy times — and charge a fixed per-seat fare of approximately ₹20–₹30 per person.
Journey time is around 30–40 minutes. Jeeps run from early morning (before Mangla Aarti) through late evening, with the highest frequency in the morning and evening. On Ekadashi and festival days, departure frequency increases significantly to meet demand.
Autos are available outside the station and can take 2–3 passengers comfortably. A full auto (private hire) costs approximately ₹150–₹250 one-way for a group. This is faster than waiting for a jeep to fill and more comfortable. Negotiate the fare before boarding — most auto drivers quote a standard rate but will agree on ₹150–₹200 for the trip during non-peak hours.
For families or groups of 4–6 people, a taxi or cab is the most comfortable option. Local taxis stationed near the Ringas station charge approximately ₹250–₹400 one-way to the temple. App-based cabs (Ola, Uber) may or may not be available in Ringas — coverage is inconsistent. Pre-booking a cab through your hotel or directly with a local driver is more reliable.
Returning from Khatu Shyam Ji to Ringas is equally straightforward — the same jeeps and autos that brought pilgrims to the temple return regularly throughout the day.
RSRTC state buses run on the Ringas–Khatu route, though with less frequency than jeeps and autos. Bus fares are the lowest option (approximately ₹15–₹20 per person), but journey times can be longer depending on stops. Buses depart from the Ringas bus stand, which is a short walk from the railway station.
The road from Ringas to Khatu Shyam Ji is approximately 17 km and in generally good condition. The route passes through small villages and agricultural land, and is well-signposted. During and after monsoon, some minor sections may have surface deterioration — usually cleared within a few days.
